Lisa began her teaching career in 2004, working primarily in Exceptional Student Education before moving in to general education. For years, she felt like she was stuck on a hamster wheel and had the "let's just make it through the day" mentality. She was working exhaustingly long hours (like all teachers), and still couldn’t get her kids interested or engaged... Until she discovered ways to cloak the learning by adding an element of mystery and the power of a student-centered classroom.

Through years of trial and error, she learned that in addition to boosting student achievement and encouraging critical thinking skills, student-centered teaching actually improved student-teacher relationships. Better relationships = better behavior!

Lisa is also the founder of Think Tank Teacher LLC where she has crafted over 3,000 unique activities with a twist of fun for the classroom. She received Teacher of the Year from the Florida House of Representatives and is a former curriculum writer for the Florida Department of Education.
