Sorry but not really. The only educational value is critical thinking and teamwork. The Mine ER can not be used for assessments. This is a party game to be played at home. However, you could certainly create holiday themed or “just for fun” escape rooms for your classroom or TPT shop. 

I suggest ages 7+. Once you get an idea of how the puzzles work, you can always change the complexity level if your target audience is a certain age group.
