Description

Was he a Federalist or an Anti-Federalist? Ratification of the U.S. Constitution and the debate between the Federalists and Anti-Federalists is always a tough topic to teach. Students will read quotes and determine if the person was a Federalist or an Anti- Federalist. They will fill in their worksheet after visiting 8 different quotes in their gallery walk. Students will be asked to write down key words from each quote which convinced them of their answer. Lastly, they will add up their answer points (on each quote page) to determine the winner!

Students will examine the point of view of: John Jay, James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, Robert Yates, Alexander Hamilton, Patrick Henry, Elbridge Gerry and Roger Sherman.
