Description
Impress your students with an interactive Egyptian Gods Digital Escape Room with puzzles. The DIGITAL Escape Room is a winning combination of reading passages, codes and ciphers! An engaging NO-PREP digital activity with a twist of FUN that covers Egyptian gods, and goddesses, Ancient Egypt, Ra, Amun, Isis, Osiris, Horus, Thoth. Great addition to your Ancient Egypt unit.
The whole activity is housed on ONE website, making this a cinch to share and play! No outside links and no accounts or login required!
As students progress through the digital escape room, they will earn “keys” to determine the final 9-digit code. With 9 puzzles that vary in difficulty, this escape room is ideal for igniting critical thinking skills, while gaining some knowledge on the topic. Puzzles range from ciphers and color codes, to directional locks, elimination, drag and drop, and jigsaw puzzles. No prior knowledge needed.
Please test this link on a STUDENT DEVICE to ensure the site is not blocked by your district:

IF YOU GET A 404 ERROR THAT MEANS YOUR SCHOOL DISTRICT HAS BLOCKED THE WEBSITE. PLEASE REACH OUT TO YOUR TECH PERSON OR EMAIL YOUR DISTRICT WITH THE LINK ASKING FOR PERMISSION.
No grading involved! This is a self-checking activity with an “answer bank” for each challenge that offers immediate student feedback. The codes are set with “answer validation,” therefore, students cannot move on to the next challenge until they enter the code or solve the puzzle correctly. If you are using the activity for front loading and they have no prior knowledge, they will still be able to play. Students will use deductive reasoning as well as trial and error to figure out the correct answer. Please note: You will not be able to collect scores or data since this is a self-checking, view-only, digital activity.
How do Digital Escape Rooms work? All you need to do is send students the link, it’s THAT easy! This digital escape room has students working through NINE challenges, with mystery puzzles along the way. The puzzles progressively get more difficult. Some of the answers are NOT common knowledge, but don’t stress! There are only so many possible answer combinations, and some sort of “bank” is provided for every puzzle. If they get it wrong, they can just try a new code with a new answer. Example: In what year did George Washington accept an assignment to lead the Continental Army? Now, this may not be common knowledge but the “answer bank” has the following answers to choose from: 1745 or 1775. Should they get the code wrong, they can guess again. Therefore, the codes themselves are puzzles. (However, all the answers are revealed in the readings at some point). They’ll need to use deductive reasoning to determine which answer they need to change.
What do I need to access the activity? You need access to the internet and technology devices (Chromebooks, iPads, desktops or laptops). Google accounts are NOT needed! (no e-mail addresses required) This is a DIGITAL activity only and it is NOT editable.
