Multiplication with Multiples DIGITAL Math Escape Room – Breakout Activity

Description

Cure student boredom with this Multiplication with Multiples DIGITAL MATH ESCAPE ROOM! Allow students to master or practice their multiplication skills while using their critical thinking skills to solve puzzles. An engaging NO-PREP math review game with a twist of FUN!

Math skills covered: Multiplying Multi-Digit Numbers (4th grade standard 4.NBT.5)

The whole activity is housed on ONE Google Form™ making this a cinch to share and play! As students progress through the escape room, they will earn “clues” to determine the final 4-digit code. The final clue is also a puzzle!

No grading involved! This is a self-checking activity with an “answer bank” for each challenge that offers immediate student feedback. The 4-letter codes are set with “answer validation,” therefore, students cannot move on to the next challenge until they enter the code correctly. Please note: You will not be able to collect scores or data since this is a self-checking, view-only, digital activity.

How does the Digital Math Escape work? All you need to do is send students the link, it’s THAT easy! This digital math escape room has students working through FIVE challenges. Each challenge has 4 math problems related to the common core standard and a puzzle decoder. Students will answer questions for each challenge, then use the decoder to determine the lock codes. Correct lock codes will generate a “clue.” The puzzles progressively get more difficult.

What do I need to access the activity? You need access to the internet and technology devices (Chromebooks, iPads, or laptops). Google accounts are NOT needed! (no e-mail addresses are required)

Students WILL need scratch paper to work out each problem and/or show their work.
