Description
Cure student boredom with this U.S. Constitution DIGITAL ESCAPE ROOM Breakout activity! Allow students to use their critical thinking skills to decode puzzles and learn about the United States Constitution. An engaging NO-PREP game with a twist of FUN!
Topic covered: US Constitution, articles, Preamble, Founding Fathers, overview
The whole activity is housed on ONE Google Form™ making this a cinch to share and play! As students progress through the escape room, they will earn “clues” to determine the final 4-digit code. The final clue is also a puzzle!
No grading involved! This is a self-checking activity with an “answer bank” for each challenge that offers immediate student feedback. The 4-letter codes are set with “answer validation,” therefore, students cannot move on to the next challenge until they enter the code correctly. Students WILL need scratch paper to record clues.
How do Digital Escapes work? All you need to do is send students the link, it’s THAT easy! This digital escape room has students working through FIVE challenges. Each challenge has 4 questions and a puzzle decoder. Students will answer questions for each challenge, then use the decoder to determine the lock codes. Correct lock codes will generate a “clue.” The puzzles progressively get more difficult. Some of the answers are NOT common knowledge, but don’t stress! The answer bank includes just TWO ‘possible’ answers per question, so if they get it wrong, they can just try a new code with a new answer. Example: In what year did George Washington accept an assignment to lead the Continental Army? Now, this may not be common knowledge but the “answer bank” has the following answers to choose from: 1745, 1775. Should they get the code wrong, they can guess again. Therefore, the codes themselves are puzzles. They’ll need to use deductive reasoning to determine which answer they need to change.
What do I need to access the activity? You need access to the internet and technology devices (Chromebooks, iPads, or laptops). Google accounts are NOT needed! (no e-mail addresses are required) This is a DIGITAL activity only and it is NOT editable.
Please note: You will not be able to collect scores or data since this is a self-checking, view-only, digital activity.
