Description
The California Gold Rush DIGITAL Escape Room will take students on a secret mission through two 360° VIEW rooms! This escape room has students decode interesting facts about the California Gold Rush, miners, mass migration. Drag the mouse or keypad to move the screen for a 360 view! All you have to do is share the link with your students!! It’s THAT easy! No prior knowledge is needed.
***STUDENT GOOGLE ACCOUNTS™ REQUIRED FOR USE***
Students will read 4 short passages, then answer questions related to each passage. After correctly answering the questions, they will be given a “clue.” They will then decode 4 puzzles to help them determine the final lock code.
There are 4 sets of color-coded activities. For example, there is a BLUE 4 icon for a reading passage, a BLUE question mark for questions related to the BLUE reading passage and a BLUE controller icon for a puzzle related to the reading.
It is your responsibility to ensure the links will work prior to your purchase. Test these links first on a student account.

A few of my students used this to learn more about the California Gold Rush while they were researching workers rights for our argument and advocacy writing unit.
Anna R. –
This resource was too challenging for my student to navigate on their chromebooks. My 5th graders had a lot of questions and were confused on the task they were supposed to be completing. If you are higher education, this would be a great resource to use in your classroom.
Elizabeth H. –

Courtney Flores –
This was a really cool escape room when I went through it myself! Unfortunately for my fourth graders, it was too complex and challenging for them. I recommend having students on desktops or bigger devices. Our chrome books weren’t big enough and the students were frustrated. It is a really cool resource and hopefully can use it in the future!!

This was purchased for the 2019-2020 school year and I forgot to leave a review.
I was teaching in a 4th/5th-grade classroom and had to purchase items for both grade levels. This was used for my 4th-grade students. I had great plans to use this in the physical classroom setting but had to use it digitally as a supplemental source for students when schools first shut down due to COVID. We had little time together virtually so social studies and science were put on the backburner. Instead, I assigned this activity in Google Classroom along with several videos that went along with the slides. The few students who did the activity said they LOVED their first escape room, so thank you for this awesome resource!
I am now in 3rd-grade (was in 2nd until Veterans Day week) so I will not be using it this year.
Christina F. –
Definitely a great cross curricular activity to reinforce instruction and give students an exploration. Student should definitely be reminded to pay attention to the details. The students enjoyed the activity very much!
Miss K Pederson –
My students loved this!
