I did this as a whole-group activity with my 4th graders. We are working a lot this year on looking back into the text for information, so this resource worked well for reinforcing their reading skills while also learning about the War of 1812. I especially liked the anticipation guide – my students got really excited when they guessed correctly.

I bought a few of these assignments this past spring and plan on buying more next school year! The only thing is that my students didn’t care to do the final coloring activity. I do wish the author offered a version of the worksheet that didn’t refer to the colors needed for the final coloring activity.

My students needed a little extra help with learning about The War of 1812 and this resource really helped. They worked in groups to read and find the answers. I worked with a small group on this if I thought it would be too hard for them to comprehend, independently. Overall, very satisfied.
