Great Wall of China Text Marking Detective Mystery – Reading Passage

Description

With their Great Wall of China Reading Passage in hand, students will move around the classroom answering questions, playing detective and finding clues to the case. This Text-Marking Detective Mystery has students using their reading passage multiple times searching for evidence to each of the 18 questions. Great addition to your Ancient China unit.

Topics include: Ancient China, Great Wall of China, construction, dynasties, uses

Students will work individually (or in pairs) and race to see who can solve the case first! A friendly competition always increases engagement. As students answer each question, they will need to underline or highlight where they found the answer in the reading passage.

This activity can be used for individual work, partner activities, anticipatory sets, unit review, sub plans, extension activities, early-finishers, or just for fun the day before break.
