My students are learning about the first 5 presidents. This is a great activity to engage them in learning while having fun creating the poster. They really enjoyed doing it. I used this in combination with posters from the other presidents.

  2. Carrie O. –

History Club loved this and it was so well laid out that it was easily to use collaboratively. The decorating and coloring of Jefferson was a hit as well.

These pennants have become a staple in my classroom to add to our learning about the American Revolution. Not only do students learn a lot about Thomas Jefferson but staff and students enjoy looking at the finished products hanging in our hallway!

  11. Penny N. –

I found an article about Jefferson that went hand in hand with the notes page in this packet. It helped reinforce the idea of reading a paragraph and taking small notes before going to next paragraph. The students enjoyed the opportunity to share their coloring skills and be a little creative on the pennant.

  12. Ann K. –

My 2nd grade homeschooled child is extremely interested in American History and our presidents. He had already completed extensive reading/researching about Jefferson and then used this banner to summarize the most salient points. Coloring it was a bonus!

  13. Irene V. –

My students used this as a distance learning project while our school is closed. They loved it. They sent me pictures with their finished project. I even had a mom comment that she enjoyed learning about Thomas Jefferson with her son!

  14. Kimberlie W. –

This is a really great way to keep the kids engaged! They loved it.
